This project aimed to identify a technical field that would support a feasible business proposal and select which company would benefit from such a research proposal. My team partner and I selected solar energy as our research topic and considered the feasibility of creating a 290 MW Solar Energy Photovoltaic (PV) Farm Array on 90 acres in Colorado Springs. The audience for this proposal was Colorado Springs Utilities and Mountain View Electrical Co-Op energy grids. The project also met the following outcomes of the program:
* Identify reader/user expectations
* Evaluate and use appropriate strategies for production and editing
* Analyzing, navigating, and synthesizing research data
This was one of the best projects I worked on during my UCCS Technical Writing Program tenure. I could combine my diverse experience with the required objectives – white paper, business proposal, and real-world issues. My real estate background enabled me to locate the best location for an available site. The project takeaways were confidence in completing similar projects of this requirement and assurance in program management.
